Andrew McDevitt, a 2010 graduate of UC Hastings College of the Law, joined Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger as an associate attorney in January of 2011. From 2008 to 2010, he worked as a law clerk for the firm.
While attending Hastings, Mr. McDevitt was a founding member and Executive Production Editor of the Hastings Science & Technology Law Journal. He was a member of the Hastings Trial Team, participating in four national trial competitions. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable A. James Robertson II of the San Francisco Superior Court.
Mr. McDevitt graduated magna cum laude in mechanical engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He received multiple academic honors while at Cal Poly, including the President's List, the Dean's List, invitation into Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor societies, and acceptance into the Golden Key International Honor Society.
At the Walkup firm, Mr. McDevitt has used his mechanical engineering background to assist in both medical negligence and medical product liability claims involving complex devices and hospital based systems. He has worked on a broad spectrum of personal injury and wrongful death cases, including those involving the negligence of Kaiser personnel.
